What can affect the accuracy of the breathing alert?

  • The Baby monitor shouldn't be relied on to accurately detect breathing rate or no breathing if there's external movement, like when baby's in a pushchair or a car.
  • The monitor may also detect the breathing or movement from any other person sharing a bed with the baby, and will not alarm as long as it detects that movement, even if baby stops breathing. So, the baby wearing the Baby monitor must sleep in their own separate bed or cot.
